Tua Rita Perlato del Bosco 2004

The 2004 Perlato del Bosco, a blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, is a gorgeous wine, with expressive aromatics and plenty of vibrant sweet dark fruit supported by a lively sense of minerality. Richly structured on the palate, it offers much length but it will require another year or two in the bottle to show the full breadth of its expressiveness. The 2006 Flor de Pingus spent 14 months in new French oak. Deep purple in color, it gives up a superb bouquet of toasty oak, spice box, mineral, incense, black cherry, and blackberry. Youthful, full-bodied, intense, and powerful on the palate, it retains an elegant personality despite its size. Splendidly balanced, it will evolve for 4-6 years and deliver prime drinking from 2013 to 2026. Val Llach 'Embruix' 2005

The 2005 Embruix (“bewitched” in Catalan), sourced from the estate’s younger vines, is a blend of 38% Garnacha, 26% Carinena, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, and 6% Merlot. Fifty percent of the wine was barrel fermented and all of it was aged for 16 months in seasoned French oak. Crimson-colored, the wine has an attractive nose of cedar, tobacco, pencil lead, black cherry, and blackberry. Full-bodied, plush, forward, and nearly seamless, it has lots of spicy dark fruits, silky tannin, excellent depth, and a pure finish. Drink this pleasurable wine over the next 6-8 years.
