BEAUJOLAIS - SOME OLD FAVOURITES AND NEW ARRIVALS
Saturday, 12.30pm - 2.30pm

Beaujolais is often considered the poor cousin of its more famous neighbour to the north (Burgundy), often mis-represented as a simple, unexciting wine best served slightly chilled or as a 'quaffer'. In many cases this is correct, with simple, one dimensional examples coming from the region. Recently however, Australia has seen a growing influx of excellent 'cru' Beaujolais from a number of the more exciting appellations within the area, in addition to some great Beaujolais villages. Gone are the days when our only example of Beaujolais was the extremely simple Beaujolais Nuevo or wines produced en mass. Join us this Saturday to taste a number of stunning examples of the region for an exercise that we hope will change your perception of this often maligned region! This tasting will include the newly arrived Foillard Cote du Py 2007, Chignard 'Les Moriers' 2008 and Chignard 'Vieilles Vignes' 2007 amoungst others great examples of the region.

PARADISE IV MASTERCLASS WITH WINEMAKER DOUG NEAL
Saturday 13th March, 1pm - 3pm @ EIS (next door to Randall's Albert Park)
$15 per person - PLACES ARE LIMITED, to book call (03) 9686 4122

Paradise IV is without a doubt one of the most exciting (and successful) “boutique” labels to burst onto the scene in recent years. The estate, located on the cool north eastern outskirts of Geelong, is the site of the original Paradise IV vineyard planted in 1848, under the former “Moorabool” Estate. Now in it’s 5th consecutive vintage (as Paradise IV Estate), owners and winemakers Doug Neal (former Giaconda assistant winemaker for 11 years) and Graham Bonney, are crafting some of this country’s most intriguing and delectable cool climate wines. This not too be missed masterclass hosted by Doug Neal, will feature a snapshot of the estate so far, together with a full line-up of the much anticipated 2008 new releases and 2009 barrel samples! As a compliment to the wines we will be serving a fine selection of cold meats and cheeses.

Wines on tasting:
2008 and 2009 Chardonnay
2006 and 2008 Batesford Shiraz Blend
2006 and 2008 Dardel Shiraz
2007 and 2008 Chaumont Red Blend
2009 Barrel samples featuring the components of Dardel and Chaumont
