Join us in welcoming Mike Aylward this friday as we taste through his terrific selection of wines from up and coming Mornington producer Oceans Eight. Mike will be on hand to answer any questions regarding his wines and offer an insight into the producion into their production.
Mornington Peninsula Regional tasting
Saturday 10th July 2010, 12.30 - 2.30pm
This saturday, to coencide with our bus trip to mornington, we will be opening a number of wines from the mornington peninsula paying hommage to the three grape varieties that are producing stunning wines from there, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This will be a great opportunity to not only try a great lineup of wines but look at each of the three styles and the differences that result from winemaking styles and terroir. Some of the wines on tasting will be Scorpo Pinot Gris, Port Philip Estate Chardonnay, Yabby Lake Chardonnay, Paradigm Hill L'Ami Sage Pinot Noir and Hurley Garamond Vineyard Pinot Noir.

Join us for a unique opportunity to look behind the wine. For the first of a series of events, we will be taking a small group of people down to the Mornington Peninsula to see the inner workings of two of the region’s most renowned wine producers. Beginning at Kooyong with winemaker Sandro Mosele, we will have the opportunity to see the vineyards and the inner workings of the winery, taste the wines with Sandro and explore what goes into making the outstanding Kooyong wines. Following that, lunch will be at Red Hill Brewery with a tasting paddle of their award winning beers and a choice of two dishes. After everyone’s hunger has been sated, we will end the afternoon at Main Ridge Estate where we will have the opportunity to taste their range of wines under the guidance of winemaker and owner Nat White, view the beautiful vineyards of Main Ridge estate and look at the inner workings of the winery.
