Whilst Shiraz can lay claim to being the regional star, one of the great joy's of the Great Western region is its ability to produce great wines from a diverse range of grape varieties.
Once again, this is a terrific example of what the region can produce, the nose displaying mocha, dried herbs, cigar box, black currents and lifted, violet aromatics. The palate is structured and firm, with classic rich blackcurrant, dried herbs and brambly fruit characters bound up tightly with expert use of oak. This is a joy to drink now with roast lamb but will cellar gracefully for upwards of five years.
