Without doubt, Chateau Cissac is one of our most popular imported wines, my offers of all vintages from 2003 till 2009 exceeded my expectations both in terms of sales, interest generated and finally, customer satisfaction.
This family owned Bordeaux estate has always offered incredible value. James Halliday has written about the wines in glowing terms and still has wines from the 60's, in beautiful condition, in his cellar. Max Allen has reviewed several recent vintages very well also.
Simply put; Chateau Cissac is possibly the best value and most reliable Cru Bourgeois produced.
Cissac makes 25,000 cases a year on average and the estate is situated about 4km from the great 1st Growths of Lafite and Mouton Rothschild. The blend is 75% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot and 5% petit verdot. It is all aged in oak barriques of which 30% are new, for 18 months.
The Bordolais have experienced another great vintage with 2010, the general consensus indicating that the wines are rich and powerful, with 2010 displaying excellent structure and purity. I am once again excited to be able to offer this terrific value Cru Bourgeois on an en-primeur basis and encourage everyone to seriously consider this wine.

The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very clean fruits, nothing over-ambitious but very harmonious and silky smooth towards the finish. This is the best Cissac I have tasted en primeur."
