(White) Pinot Auxerrois (70%) and Pinot Blanc (30%) originating from both Herrenweg and Rotenberg vineyards, in equal proportion of red calcareous and gravely soil, this is a big, rich and beautifully dry mouth-full of wine. The acidity adds tension, and apparently it is high, according to the website notes, but it is exceptionally well embedded.
This is a "wild" and unusual wine with honey, honeycomb, hay and balsam notes; also exotic citrus oil and apricot perhaps? It's very complex and difficult to describe and do justice to. Being 13% alcohol and "indice 1" it is dry and fuller bodied than the wine above. Both are very different; and both are very, very good. RANDALL
