93 points! This is 100% Nebbiolo from younger vines (20 something years old) in Bussia, Monforte, raised only in stainless steel, with some carbonic maceration. It’s becoming clear already, that 2015 is a good vintage in those parts. For reference, this is a much riper and bigger style than the 2015 Benevelli Pierro Langhe. This is a primal, untamed expression of pure Nebbiolo fruit. Dark cherry, liquorice, violet and dried rose perfume. Medium bodied, fleshy and ripe, with layers of meaty and silky tannin, clean acidity, and an almost bubblegum perfume in the aftertaste. It’s good fun now, though I reckon it will be much better with a couple of years in the cellar to let it settle down. What a bargain! Gary Walsh, Wine Front, 20 July 2016.
