Cleanskins can often be a lucky dip, with many $10 cleanskins simply tasting like a $10 wine. This is not the case with any of our “hand picked” cleanskins. This one off Geelong red displays classic cool climate shiraz notes of cracked black pepper, dark cherries and black berry fruit with savoury, dried herb and meaty characters playing supporting roles. The palate is elegant yet displays great fruit concentration and finesse. 2008 was a warm vintage in the Geelong region and this wine has benefited from this, with great primary fruit juicyness with underlying cool-climate structure and spice. Tasted blind among wines at twice the price, we felt this wine came up trumps. Outstanding value for money. Rod, Jordan, Shirl, Rachael & Randall
