Incredibly watery-pale in colour – but not in flavour. This one bursts from the blocks with intense limey/pulpy/slatey flavour. It’s not complex or necessarily lengthy – though it’s not short – but it’s pure and bright and well-powered. With yum cha, dim sum, whatever you want to call it – it would be excellent. Pale straw-green; the perfumed bouquet offers passionfruit, kiwi fruit and citrus aromas that set the scene for the palate, with a feline grace that would capture the most ardent despiser of sauvignon blanc. Mature vineyards and years of practice make this the most dependable Australian sauvignon blanc.
