*Biodynamic Riesling*
Round and effusive, boasting apricot, passion fruit, grapefruit and mineral flavors. Elegant and juicy, with terrific balance in a dry style and fine length. WINE SPECTATOR
Pumpkin, yellow plum, apricot, and lemon mark the Wittmann 2008 Riesling trocken, which once again stems from many parcels, pickings, and individually-vinified lots that are then assembled shortly before bottling. A palpable sense of extract and stuffing does not keep this from being fundamentally tart, but I find its brightness invigorating, and there is an impressive sense of sustained finishing chalkiness. I’d plan to drink it over the next 2-3 years for its pep and energy, and not expect it to pay dividends after settling down. DAVID SCHILDKNECHT, erobertparker.com
