This pinot blanc tastes like Chablis crossed with a dry Alsatian with a touch of Jura chardonnay. It has peach and preserved lemon flavour, and a nice lick of textural phenolic firmness showing through on the dry, clean finish. Matured in old barrels from 1200-3000lt.
92 points! Pinot blanc. Done the Ziereisen way. Not the usual way. Organic, minimal intervention, barrels and lees and natural ferments. Always. Fresh fruited bouquet, tropical fruits, green apples, some citrus blossom. Palate is chewy, textural, more savoury than the perfume suggests. Structure and tension. Clever, wonderfully delicious wine. Mike Bennie, Wine Front, 23 Dec 2016.
